Frank W. Majesky was born in 1921 in Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the USAAF 15 November 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the co-pilot of B-25C, 41-12966, of the 341st Bomb Group, 491st Bomb Squadron, departed the Air Base at Chakulia, India, on 30 October, 1943, at about 0930 hours, in rain, poor visibility and IFR weather. In 1949, some remains were recovered by Graves Registration and returned.

 

O’CONNER, DANIEL J, Second Lieutenant, # 0-741747, USAAF

 

Daniel J. O’Connor was the bombardier/navigator on the B-25C, 41-12966, of the 341st Bomb Group, 491st Bomb Squadron, departed the Air Base at Chakulia, India, on 30 October, 1943, at about 0930 hours, in rain, poor visibility and IFR weather. In 1949, some remains were recovered by Graves Registration and returned.

 

MUNTZINGER, DONALD RICHARD, Staff Sergeant, # 35504502, USAAF

 

Donald R. Muntzinger was born 8 December 1921 in Pleasant, Van Wert Co., Ohio, the fifth child to Stephen E. Muntzinger (1883-1970) and Martha (Friedly) Muntzinger (1883-1961) of Pleasant Township, Ohio. Siblings included Macile Leone (Muntziner) Etzler (1916-2007), Jerald Lee Muntzinger (1926-2010), and Pattie Muntzinger (1928-    ), according to the 1940 census.

 

He enlisted 26 September 1942 at Camp Perry, Lacarne, Ohio. He was the radio operator and gunner on the B-25C, 41-12966, of the 341st Bomb Group, 491st Bomb Squadron, departed the Air Base at Chakulia, India, on 30 October, 1943, at about 0930 hours, in rain, poor visibility and IFR weather. In 1949, some remains were recovered by Graves Registration and returned. The family placed a memorial marker in the Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery, Convoy, Van Wert Co., Ohio.
