REGAL, ARTHUR, JR., Staff Sergeant, # 39530328, USAAF

 

Arthur (NMI) Regal, Jr., was born 1921 in Missouri to Arthur Regal (1893-1958) and Frances Emma (Bolderson) Regal (1903-1983). In 1942 the family live at 3827 Independence, South Gate, Los Angeles County, California.

 

He enlisted in the USAAF on 7 August 1942 in Los Angeles, California. He was trained in B-24 aircraft mechanics and as a gunner (.50 caliber Browning aircraft machinegun). On 20 May 1944, at about 1600 hours, a B-24J, # 42-73317, “Puck” assigned to the 308th Bomb Group, 373rd Bomb Squadron (Heavy), 14th Air Force departed Luichow, China, on a sea sweep combat mission, to land at Yangkai, China. It was speculated that anti-aircraft fire brought it down. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and Purple Heart. He is remembered on the Manila American Cemetery, Fort William McKinley, Philippines.

 

DALEY, JORDAN L. B., Corporal, # 35470127, USAAF

 

Jordan L. Daley was born in 21 January 1918 in Ohio to Arthur J. Daley (1887-    ) and Grace M. Daley (1890-    ). In 1940 his father was a railway conductor.

 

He enlisted in the USAAF in Cincinnati, Ohio, on 21 August 1942. He was trained on the B-24 as a gunner. On 20 May 1944, at about 1600 hours, a B-24J, # 42-73317, “Puck” assigned to the 308th Bomb Group, 373rd Bomb Squadron (Heavy), 14th Air Force departed Luichow, China, on a sea sweep combat mission, to land at Yangkai, China. It was speculated that anti-aircraft fire brought it down. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He is remembered on the Manila American Cemetery, Fort William McKinley, Philippines. A marker is in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Glendale, Hamilton County, Ohio.

HAMILTON, CLIFFORD T., Staff Sergeant, # 35513381, USAAF

 

Clifford T. Hamilton was born 11 January 1921 to Frank Hamilton (1882-1966) and Celia (McIlyar) Hamilton (1891-    ). They married 31 December 1909 in Davidson, North Carolina. A sister was Elena (Hamilton) Mooney (1920-2000). In 1930 all family members were listed as acrobats. In 1940 his father is a gymnasium instructor. In 1942 his wife, Flora V. Hamilton, lived at 38588 Caldwell Ave, Avon Lake, Ohio.
