The U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps is located at Fort Lee, Virginia. In mountainous area, the headquarters and training area is replete with pine and other indigenous trees. Many of the WW II buildings have been replaced with newer construction. First known as Camp Lee during the colonial era and WW I and WW II (6 October 1941), it grew in size and was redesignated Fort Lee during the WW II buildup. The Quartermaster Corps trains personnel in logistical supply of arms, equipment and subsistence, petroleum and water, aerial delivery - parachute riggers, field services, war dogs, clothing and graves registration. Its personnel are trained to provide aerial resupply, helicopter support, and utilize many of the available air assets and vehicles in its duties.
